Belly Fat, Springtime and Bathing Suits (and a smoothie recipe too!)


Spring is in the air and belly fat is still around my tummy. Oh hum. Visions of bikinis, shorts and even one piece bathing suits are so NOT dancing around in my head. Eek--perish those thoughts!
But I do want to get fit (fit-ter anyway) and lose weight this spring-- if not for bathing suit season, at least for my own health! So I am spring-cleaning my diet -- more good stuff and way less of the yummy bad stuff.


I have this smoothie recipe I am going to start making myself to [[hopefully]] start out each morning with (will power is not my strong suit, okay?)  I think of that commercial where they show a woman starting her morning out with good eating choices and how that keeps her motivated to keep making healthy choices throughout her day--remember that one? I am hoping I can be like the commercial lady and smile all day while I eat salads and fruit and ignore those bad cookies and french fries. After all, if she can do it, I am sure I can too.

 And then again I may not.

Being hungry makes me cranky, you see, so I am not making any promises.

Fruity Breakfast Smoothie
1 banana, peeled and cut up
1/4 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
1/4 cup sliced fresh or frozen strawberries
3/4 cup vanilla soymilk or skim milk
1/2 cup pomegranate-blueberry juice, pomegranate juice, grape juice, or cranberry juice, chilled
1/2 cup vanilla frozen yogurt or pineapple sherbet

Blend everything for about 2 minutes and enjoy! And stop eyeing the oreos!!
