CafeWell: Get Social, Get Healthy

This post brought to you by CafeWell. All opinions are 100% mine.

CafeWell is a health and wellness social network where you can find all the support and motivation you need to get healthy and stay healthy. You will find fun challenges, discussion groups, and experts who provide advice and answer your questions. They have partnered with large health plans like Altius and together they are providing their members with great health programs, like Reach for the Peaks, where members participate on CafĂ©Well in a wireless pedometer program that focuses on helping members become and stay more active.

It is free to join CafeWell and registration takes just minutes. Once you are a member, you can join communities with similar health goals and interests as you, or you can even start your own private personal health groups. You will discover easy ways to get well and stay well, join and create health challenges with others, and get real-time feedback on your success. And if you prefer to participate privately - without joining groups, etc., but still get the support you need to get healthy and stay healthy - that is fine too.

I consider myself to be somewhat of a 'chair' potato, sad but true, so I can really relate when one member said, "So today I am taking a step forward to get off the couch and become healthy. I am overweight, underpaid and not so full of energy! I know if I think I can, I CAN! AND I WILL!" That determination alone makes me feel more motivated to get up from the couch (or in my case, the computer chair I inhabit most of my day!) and start improving my lifestyle.

Exercising is great and we all know the heath dangers associated with not being active. But for me, I need lots (and lots!) of support to continue exercising for more than just a day or two, kwim? CafeWell is free to join, and offers so much that it really makes perfect sense to take this opportunity to revamp my lifestyle and make it healthier. I have kids, and I really want them to grow up as health-conscious as possible. So what better way to encourage that than by taking action myself.
