Kentucky Derby Saturday: Got Recipes? Pure Leaf Iced Tea Does!

The Kentucky Derby is on Saturday, May 5 - will you be watching with friends and family? Even if you are going to be kicking back and watching the race by yourself, every great event deserves a great drink,

I come from a long line of tea drinkers (being Irish and Scottish and all) and there is nothing I love more (well, almost nothing) than a cup of tea. I admit I usually go for the warm cup of tea, but I also love love love iced tea - especially on hot summer days.

So when we received three of these to try out:

Well, let's just say between myself and my kids, the teas didn't last long. Sigh. They disappeared so fast, I wasn't even able to try out one of the fabulous recipes that came with them.

Lipton's Pure Leaf Iced Tea is reviving its classic, fresh-brewed taste - featuring all-natural ingredients, no preservatives and no high-fructose corn syrup- this summer. They have new recipes to share, and are even serving a fresh new mix at the Kentucky Derby.

They are also incorporating sustainable packaging that is environmentally friendly. The new square bottles are made of PET plastic which is 100% recyclable.

  1. The beverage inside the Lipton Pure Leaf new -squared- plastic bottles doesn’t taste as good as when it used to be bottled in glass bottles.
The new beverage doesn’t even taste like real tea anymore, it tastes like a heavily modified apple juice -tea wanna be-.

Try it yourself. Get a glass bottle of Raspberry flavored (there are a few left) and one of the new squared plastic bottles and do a side by side taste comparison.

Real Tea has never tasted good in plastic bottles. Why ruin an otherwise great Tea drink?
