Chocolate Milk Diet.....Who Knew??

Finally, a diet I think I can live with. Chocolate milk as a diet drink.....who knew? Not me anyway. So here is the low down:

Three eight-ounce servings of chocolate milk each day (preferably in the morning, right before a work out and after the work out) can help get rid of belly fat. How, you ask??

First, everyone knows about calcium and how we, especially us ladies, need it for our bone health. But now studies show that calcium also helps prevent fat from being absorbed by the body.If we get about 1,000 mg or more of calcium each day (the equivalent of 3 glasses of chocolate milk), that will  translate to ultimately losing nearly 18 pounds of flab!! (woohoo....might I finally be able to get rid of this left-over baby belly fat I have been carrying around forever??)

Second, we need Vitamin D to get the calcium from the foods or drinks we consume into our bodies. So you can make the Vitamin D naturally by sitting out in the sun most of the day ( skin cancer anyone??) or by drinking ....milk!  But drink the 1% stuff, not whole milk. You do not want too much fat in your milk, but the Vitamin D needs some fat to help break it down.

Third,  apparently the milk does not magically melt the flab away all by itself we still need to exercise. The good news here is that  the chocolate milk will gives us more energy and endurance than most other drinks. This is because milk has naturally occurring electrolytes that keep you more hydrated than water even. Drink your milk, do more sit ups.

And lastly, to really get thin, we need muscle to burn the extra calories we consume. Researchers have determined that the ideal protein load for building muscle is 10 to 20 grams, taken half before and half after you workout. Low-fat chocolate milk has eight grams per cup. (That means one serving before you workout and one serving after will give you a total of 16 grams of highly effective whey protein—a perfect serving.) And if you drink a cup of milk in the morning when you wake up,  you should have all the metabolism you need to keep you burning calories all day long!

So put down that coffee, tea or wine ladies, and pour yourself a cold glass of chocolate milk, and meet me by the mats for some sit ups!
