Delicious Foods Rich in Lycopene





Did you know that Lycopene, a plant based nutrient, is one of the most powerful antioxidants you can feed your body, and may help prevent certain types of cancer?

When you are thinking about foods that have this antioxidant, think about red and pink fruits and vegetables such as tomatoes, watermelon, pink grapefruit and sweet red peppers. 

Also, keep in mind that smaller vegetables and fruits often contain higher amounts of lycopene than larger vegetables and fruits.

According to some studies, processed tomatoes are are one of the best sources of Lycopene. Spaghetti sauce, stewed tomatoes and even salsa are yummy ways to make sure you get get healthy antioxidants into your diet.

Other foods that provide Lycopene are watermelon, pink grapefruit and sweet red peppers, as well as asparagus (yep, not red, but a surprising source of this antioxidant anyway!) and red cabbage.
