TLC President Says "No TV Show" For Octoplets Mom

I still am so sad about this whole octoplet baby story. I worry about those babies and their future. I almost was relieved (but also kind of angry) when I heard/read rumors that the mom, Nadya Suleman, would maybe be getting a show on TLC.

Relieved in the sense maybe those babies (and Suleman's other children), would financially be taken care of at least. And if they remained under close the public's eye, hopefully their lives would be happy and healthy in every way.

Angry because this "octo mom", who looks suspiciously like Angelina Jolie, would perhaps be using these little precious babies for her own gain. Maybe I am too cynical, but something about this woman irks the heck out of me everytime I see her on tv.

Anyway, today comes word from TLC President Eileen O'Neill that there will be no show for Suleman.

"TLC is not pursuing any program at this time with Nadya Suleman," O'Neill told Us in a statement. "We wish the family well."

And the "octo mom" has had to shut down her website where she had been been asking for donations to help with her eight babies. Seems that Suleman had been receiving death threats online.

Sigh. I feel sad. Poor babies.

this is such a crazy story and I wonder whether the doctor could be prosecuted for malpractice. This was in no one's best interest, not the mom or the babies. Thank goodness most people have better sense.

What a wacky story. I just hope that the children all end up ok.

Hi, I found you through Twitter Moms. Thanks for posting this because I've been wondering which networks would be interested in her. I think now that her publicist had to quit due to the death threats that people will be hesitant to work with her and worried the same might happen to them. I think she'll at least end up with a book deal. Enough people are curious about her story. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Noel2momof3-- I wonder about the malpractice thing too--thought I had heard they were investigating the doctor for possibly just that.

Kristin--I so agree!

Mutha Mae--I bet she will at least get a book deal too!

I agree, I want this story to have a happy ending but I'm not sure how that's possible. This never should have happened to begin with -- the doctor should definitely be held accountable. P.S. I added your button to my blog :)

That is so sad. While she irks me too. I wish her no harm and I pray that all of her children will be okay. Their mother is a bit of a wack-a-doodle.

I know it is not my place to say who can and cannot be mothers, but I think the clinic should have sat her down and said "Hey, Lets slow down"

It is very sad that someone would be so selfish... poor kids.

I was just thinking about these babies tonight as well. It seems everyone is so angry at the mom and that the babies are going to be the ones suffering in the end. Little E was running around the house tonight being a little terror and I said to DH "Imagine 8 all the same age and doing it by YOURSELF!" Life is going to be very very hard for this family. It's one thing to have 14 kids (I come from a large family as well). It is another thing to have 8 all the same age.
